Now that God has helped her walk out of the deep valley of her life, Sammi has decided to find back herself, because she said that she came to realize that “confidence does not come from the Label and tags on her, but comes from a person’s character.”

Therefore, today’s Sammi no longer blindly sought after Labels or unnecessary products despite her ability to pay for them. She illustrated that her current clothing attire as “comfortable, herself.” She will wear normal priced clothing, but she thinks that it is necessary to display a certain character. “The mixture of average priced clothing with some higher priced clothing usually forms excellent results.”

However, the Cantonese celebrity still holds on to some of her favorites, “I still love Eternal jeans! Still love leather clothing, still love Comme des Garcons, still love white shirts, white sneakers.”

Those who have observed Sammi can easily find that after being silent for three years the source of strength that changed her 180 degree in her life and heart comes from God.

Three years ago, after starring in the film Everlasting Regret, she fell into a long period of emptiness and unhappiness. At that time, she made a big decision to “find back herself.” This finding includes finding back happiness, self-confidence, and “Sammi Cheng.”

God Led Me Out of Life’s Rock Bottom

Perhaps, just like St. Augustine once said that he did not find rest until rest in Him, Sammi found the rest of her soul inside God. Her confession says that “God led me out from life’s deep valley.” While she used to “exert her strength” in almost everything, she is beginning to learn how to use a “normal heart” to treat every matter. She knows that God is the ruler of all creations.

She said, “A normal heart is a state of heart that is without competition and passionate seeking, which is more like a level. When you have truly possessed, then it might be easier to realize the phrase “normal heart.”

“God led me out of the life’s deep valley. Right now, my perspective on life isn’t too solemn and I am more tolerant and happier. My friends love chatting with me, talk about things on their hearts, because I often time use a unexpected perspective to look at matters.”

In regards to her work attitude and passion, Sammi said, “After resting for two years, I missed my fans and audiences. Within these two years of rest, I wasn’t afraid of my career. What I was afraid of is that I won’t be happy and God has helped me overcome the fear inside of my heart. I still love work, but there is a change in heart where I don’t want to be in situation that I am asking too much of myself. I won’t pass on a stable situation. However, I still like a challenging job.”

In an interview with Candy Chea, program host of Radio Television Hong Kong, Sammi spoke of the period when she was going through emotional disturbances and shared how faith has helped her; she said that she is still in the entertainment industry, but what’s different is the work style. She hopes to hold a concert at Hong Kong Coliseum in 2009.
