The celebrities gathered included some of the heavy-weight super-stars in the music and movie industries, and they are Yueh Sun, Tao Da Wei, Van Ness Wu, Jam Hsiao, Kai Pao-Yu, Samuel Tai, Augustine Yeh, Vicky Chen, Vivien Chen, Jimmy Hung, Sien Vanessa, and etc. Together, they’ve recorded the EP and MV for the song “Taiwan, I Love You”, which will be given as a gift for donations made towards this particular fund-raising effort.

CCRA’s general secretary Rev. James Hsia expressed that the funds needed is 90 million NTD. Besides providing for the basic necessities and reconstruction of homes for the victims, they hope to also provide spiritual healing and rebuilding. Furthermore, they will mobilize volunteers to read to the children affected by the disaster, professional family volunteers to provide spiritual comfort, helping them to rebuilt a better “home.”

Besides participating and singing, the celebrities also encouraged the victims to regain hope. One of the celebrities, who immediately devoted herself to the disaster relief work encouraged the victims to not lose their faith but when they are alive then there is hope; the event initiator Yueh Sun led all the celebrities to pray for the victims.

“88 Flood has swept away our homes, but it cannot sweep away our interconnected hearts,” said Sun.

Despite the loss of expensive filming scenes, Wei Te-Shen, director of Cape No. 7, choose to still support the victims by producing films that encourages them; Van Ness Wu, who has been busy in filming for television series, immediately showed his support for victims after finishing his work.

“Don’t lose hope, I will pray for you!” said Wu.

The EP “Taiwan I Love You – 88 Rebuilding Homes” will be released in early September. Besides the “Taiwan I Love You” EP and Music Video, seven other songs are recorded: “Small Dream”, “Vision”, “Love is Always Present”, “Light of Tears”, “Beloved Land”, “Strength to Do Over”. The EPs are for give-away only and is not for sale. For those who donate over 88 NTD to CCRA, they will automatically receive a free copy of the EP.
